Dubai: UAE leaders on Tuesday expressed
confidence in Dubai's future plans and projects, which boost national
economy and reflects the country's sustainable development process.
President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin
Zayed Al Nahyan also praised the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of
Dubai, which complements the strategy of the UAE leadership and government,
WAM reported.
The statement was made after a tour by the
President, accompanied by the Vice-President and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the
UAE Armed Forces, in Dubai during which he visited the city's landmarks and
was briefed on its development projects.
Shaikh Mohammad had welcomed the President
upon his arrival in Jebel Ali before embarking on the tour, which started at
the Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence, where Shaikh Khalifa visited
residential and recreational amenities, before visiting the Palm Jumeirah.
The leaders then headed to the Union House,
the site of the signing of the founding document of the UAE Federation.
At the final stop, the President visited Burj
Dubai, the world's tallest tower, where he saw developments including
residential and commercial buildings, a world-class shopping centre,
man-made lakes, hotels and recreational amenities, which reflect the social
and cultural diversity of the UAE society.
The two leaders then held talks at the Zabeel
Palace on a host of issues related to national development.Shaikh Khalifa
was briefed by Shaikh Mohammad on Dubai's future plans and projects, WAM
said.
"Shaikh Mohammad's vision is an inseparable
part of the government's comprehensive strategy, and we, as leaders, seek
through its components to improve the living conditions of UAE citizens,
upgrade education standards and provide all means of stability and strength
to our country and citizens," the President said.
"We all should be proud of this success as
well as all other achievements of this great nation and its genuine Arab
heritage, culture and values."
He also said the development projects under
way in every emirate were complementing each other and boosting national
economy and the UAE's regional and international status.
Shaikh Mohammad on his part expressed pride
over Shaikh Khalifa's keen interest in following up development projects in
Dubai and across the federation.
